As the Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights celebrates this 40th anniversary of Robert F. Kennedy's historic run for the presidency, it is honoring his legacy with a year-long series of events culminating with the rededication of New York's Triborough Bridge as The Robert F. Kennedy Bridge.

The centerpiece of the festivities will be the RFK Bridge Gala at Chelsea Piers on November 19th. As Master of Ceremonies, Christiane Amanpour will lead Alec Baldwin, Harry Belafonte, Sam Waterston, Debra Winger and other Hollywood and Broadway luminaries along with Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Archbishop Desmond Tutu in a cutting edge program reflecting Robert Kennedy's pursuit of justice, love for music, and belief in the power of one.

The November 19th event at Pier 60 will focus on building bridges and taking actions, big and small, that transform lives and communities. Renowned artist Jamie Wyeth will create an original piece commemorating Robert F. Kennedy and the Triborough Bridge. The evening will feature the presentation of the Robert F. Kennedy Ripple of Hope Award to Archbishop Tutu, Afsaneh Beschloss and Clive Davis, followed by an appropriately out-of-this-world musical performance by Andrea Bocelli.
